Question: Did you know there are dead dogs and cats in your dog’s food?
When my beloved kitty became sick with a brain tumor, I began doing research into why this happened and have been shocked beyond belief by what I’ve discovered goes into “pet” food. Not only is it diseased farm animals, road kill, cancerous tissue, cysts, puss, feces… but also euthanized dogs and cats including any flea collars, tags & plastic bags they were delivered in as well as the drugs used to kill them to the point vets are reporting it’s taking more and more of the drugs to “put them down” because they are becoming resistant to it from eating it all the time.
So why isn’t this all over the news if true? Just watch all those pet food commercials…it’s all about $ $ $

Yep, 2 of the links have been “taken down”.. sorry. They had very graphic photos and one undercover video.
As you can see, some people refuse to believe this can be true. It is “old news” to some, and to you I apologize, but the great majority of people are unaware of it. I am on a mission to spread the word of this horrible truth and hopefully spare others the grief of losing their pet to the diseases and cancers this causes. Those of you who know the truth, please help spread the word to everyone you know who love their pets enough to care.

Two of those links don’t work, two of them are unreliable news sites.
It’s IMPOSSIBLE to put euthanized pets into pet food… the drug used to euthanize them would kill the animals eating them. They are disposed of in an incinerator.
In any case, this doesn’t affect me- I feed evo to my pets and I can see every ingredient clearly listed on the label- no “by products” or “meat meal” in that!
Question: Is there such things as “human food” (in parallel with “dog food”)?
We’ve got a food for every creature. Dog food, cat food, fish food, iguana food.
The closest things I could find to a “human food” (A food that you could live off of indefinitely) were mainstay rations and the like, but not accounting for fiber and other misc needs, they’re not intended to be lived off of indefinitely.
Is there such things as a “human food”? That is, 1 single food that you could healthily live off of for the entirety of your life?
I kind of figured this would happen. Allow me to re-elaborate:
Imagine it like a perfect cereal. A cereal that you could healthily you could eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, without becoming malnourished.
Though you may sometimes change a dog’s brand of dog food with age, generally speaking, “dog food” will keep a dog healthy even if that is the only thing it is eating.
I’m trying to find a SINGLE processed form of ration that can do the same exact thing for humans. “Fruit” is not an food, it is a food GROUP.

Well, along with water, I guess maybe fruit? But that would lack in protein. You know I really don’t know. Maybe vegetables and water?
Question: Is there an affordable dog food that can help reduce shedding and reduce “doggy” odor?
We have found a food that helps with these problems for our cat. But we can’t find what we need for our dogs. We have a Boxer and an American Staffordshire Terier, each over 50lbs and lean and active. They prefer dry food. “doggy breath” we reduced by cutting out all table scraps. But “dog sweat” and shedding are still problems. I’ve heard there are foods that can help with both of these. I don’t know what they are or where to get them. Of course, with the amount big dogs eat affordability is a must.

Quality and affordable don’t always go together. The really good foods cost more. However since they are nutritious food, not full of fillers like corn and wheat that can cause allergies, you feed a little less of it. The best brands out there include: California Natural, Soild Gold, Innova, Wellness and Merrick. These brands do not contain by products either. By products are anything on an animal that is not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Also, their first ingredient is meat.

This is in the USA. I am curious what the laws are in other countries. No rendered pets? but what about “by-products” that can include euthanized “4D” farm animals (dead, diseased, disabled, dieing) and the drugs used to kill them, and anything deemed unfit for human consumption.
Amazing how many people think this is not possible…
I used to be a vet assistant too and this IS true and it IS legal. It called “meat and bone meal” or “animal digest” on the pet food label.

The following is a very graphic undercover video from West Coast Rendering in California:
If this video link doesn’t work, do a search on Youtube for “What’s REALLY in your pet’s food”
Here’s another really good video explaining what animal by-products are and meat and bone meal:
For those of you aware of this and feeding non by-product and meat and bone meal free foods to your pets, please do not be offended. I am trying the best I know how to inform people who don’t know about this or refuse to believe it can be happening.
Few people realize that the most common cat foods out there are little more than flavored corn filler and full of poisons that cause kidney failure, diabetes and cancer in our beloved pets.
Please help me spread the word!

er, this doesn’t apply to the UK by the way, just the USA
For the rabid thumbsdowners, it does not apply to the UK, roadkill does not go into pet food. It goes to landill and euth’d pets are burned en masse. Farm animals tend to be shot not euth’d with overdose of barbiturates and if they are non human food grade they get put back into farm animal food. Farm animals that are euth’d with overdose are incinerated.
Really you Americans need to do your research properly, you just can’t bear to be wrong can you?
The best pet food standards are to be found in Sweden which is where there are much higher animal welfare standards for farm animals than here in the UK or in America,.
America is generally lagging way behind the rest of the western world with animal welfare laws and standards in general.
You won’t like that, but tough cheese babies, it’s true
Question: Flying international with Catnip, will there be any issues?
In a little less than a week I(who lives in the US) is flying to chile to visit a long time friend. I plan to bring some catnip toys for my friends cat to play with as they don’t have catnip down there.
I have 4 small toys that are sealed and still tagged and everything. 2 of the toys come with small bags of catnip.
I’m wondering 2 things, will I, or Might I have an issue at all? I’m worried that someone will see it and think it’s weed. Seeing that it’s not weed(thus different smell), it’s a small amount and it’s sealed in their packaging that say “catnip cat toys” all over it I don’t think there is an issue, but I want to ask to be safe and sure.
And is there any restriction at all to bringing catnip anywhere? I’m headed to Chile and want to make sure it’s not banned there for some reason or another.
Once again I don’t think it is, but want to be safe and ask. Thank you.

If you can, I’d put in checked and not carry-on luggage.
However, I am not sure of the laws of Chile on what you can and cannot bring into Chile.
Most customs officials are usually proficient enough to recognize drugs when they encounter them. They can also “field test” for drugs right there- proving that it’s not weed.
Question: Is there a “Human food”? I mean one that’s similar to dog and cat foods..?

Question: What is the smallest domesticated cat? Are there “Toy” breeds like there are in dogs?
Answer:
Answer by Courtney M
As far as I know, there are no “toy” breeds of cats.
As far as size, it depends on their upbringing, for the most part. I’m not sure that there is one smaller than the other.
Ragdolls are precious!!
