Question: My new kitten is beginning to show dominant/aggressive behavior towards my resident kitten. Help?
The new kitten is 10 weeks old and has been with us for 9 days; the resident kitten is 9 months old. At first, our resident kitten was very distressed by the newbie. We followed the tips for a successful introduction etc. and finally it seemed that the resident kitten was ready to accept the newbie. However, the new kitten is beginning to show aggressive behaviors toward the resident kitten: growling, jumping on his back, some antagonizing, and an almost in your face “I got your toy” smugness. I don’t know how much longer I can deal with the behaviors and am prepared to return the new kitten. By the way, my resident kitten has always been very mild-mannered and easy going, very lovable. The new kitten is precious but his nickname was Wild One when we adopted him. He is extremely rambunctious and fiesty. I know the process can take several weeks to a month but are there incidences when it just won’t work and how and when do you just know that the two cats are not a match?

They’ll work it out. The new kitten is playing / testing the other cat. As the young one grows up, it sounds like he’ll be the “head cat”.
I had two cats and one was the top cat. If the other got out of line, he’d pin him and sit on his head until he said “uncle” (crying and squirming).
It’s part of socialization.
Also if the young one isn’t neutered yet, he’ll be more aggressive. Get him “fixed” and he’ll calm down.

Ok this is my story
ever since I was a kid I wanted a puppy. There is a store near my house called “Puppy City” where puppies are sold. I went there almost everyday and looked at the puppys in the store but I never went inside the store.
One day when I was 7 I went inside for the first time to look for a puppy that I wanted with my mom. My mom told me that maybe my dad would buy me one. The next day I got sick and pretty much almost died. I was rushed to the hospital. I found out that I had severe allergies on dogs and cats fur. So then I started getting the allergy shots and after 2 years of it my allergies on dogs and cats fur was almost gone. I was surprised after I got checked, but I stil had a little allergy on them. So I looked up dogs that probably wont affect my allergies. I found the maltese because its small, and I cant have a dog over the “toy” section (according to my mom” and the maltese will only affect allergies if its a lot. But I found out that it wont affect me. I asked my mom and she said to ask my dad. I asked my dad and a few yells lator I knew I couldn’t get one. I tried protesting but that didn’t work either. I even wrote a 7 page persuasive letter to my dad.
Also: please don’t tell me to wait till I get my own home because I wont have as much of fun experience than i would if I got a puppy when I was a kid.

I have a 10 year old cat. She has always been strange, she won’t eat in front of people, unless it is “people food” like chicken.
Lately, she has started pooping in our bathroom, on the floor. It is horrible smelling diarrhea and there has been blood in the stool. I think that it is time to take her to the vet, she is my husband and step-daughter’s cat, and I don’t want to be the “bad guy” especially since she is her same, strange self besides this. But this is becoming a daily occurrence and I am at a loss.

We have a persian that is also getting old, he’s 12. He constantly poops on the floor, either because the kitty litter is too full for him and he chooses not to get his paws dirty, or because he is sick.
Last month he had blood in his stool, we asked the vet and they said it could be a variety of things.
The cat could have ate something, like a plant, plastic, or string, that irritated his bowels. Or he could have a virus that eventually goes away. The more serious ones were intestinal cancer.
I suggest you bring your cat to the vet. Just casually let it come up one day that you think you should bring the cat to the vet. Good luck.
Question: please help me find the best dry cat food?
my cat hates the raw diet and wet food so please don’t lecture me on that, i have tried several flavors and brands and as a topper and he either cries for hours or eats around it. he has a water fountain at all times. and i always acclimate him to food. i think the junk foods like friskies and meow mix is better for him actually, shiny coat and solid stools. whenever i give him “premium” or “organic foods” like natures recipe, solid gold, or nutro it seems to be too rich for him, he gets diarrehrea and his coat is full of dandruff. now the junk food is what he enjoys (friskies, meow mix) and it is affordable. but its junk and i would wnat him on something healthier, without the dandruff and messy stools, and he refuses to eat science diet, which is ok because it is just overpriced junk food. what do you recommend? and please no raw or wet diets i have tried them he hates it and im not going to let him starve so i can say “o ya i feed raw only”

Feed him EVO, it’s the next best thing. I use it, saved us a lot of vet bills. It’s not extremely expensive, I get pays $ 100 a week and I can afford it.
Question: 3 month Kitten keeps puking and passing stool. Help!?
Hi All,
Need help regarding my kitten.
History –
- Separated from mother at about 2 days after birth. Has been reared by hand since then. Fed a diet of milk formula initially for 6 weeks, and then cerelac ( infant cereal ), rice formula. Had started her on a diet of boiled mashed fish with rice about a week back ( one meal per day, accompanied with the cerelac and milk formula in other meals of the day ).
- She has been given deworming once from the vet at about 6 weeks.
Gave her cat food “whiskas” or something ( made in S.Africa ). Processed meat cutlets in gravy. Mashed them up so she could eat em properly.
After about 12-16 hours, and after taking one meal of cerelac and also milk formula, she started pooping a lot, and passing a lot of urine. All normal in color.
Now she has puked roughly 5-6 times, and at all times whitish froth is coming out. The last she puked i saw a few chunks of the cat food ( very very small ).
Her last stool was quite watery and loose, Other all were normal.
She is looking really de-hydrated, and extremely exhausted with the puking. I tried bottle feeding her some milk formula, but she would not take it, so i dint want to exhaust her more, and have left her to rest.
Please advise, is it just a reaction to the cat food? ( because the cat food was given before also, when she was about 8 weeks, but only twice and in much much lesser amount ).
Should i not feed her anything for the next 6-10 hours and let her system clear itself up, or try and give her something??
- This is the first time handling a kitten, and that too from day 2-3 of birth of the kitten. Have experience with dogs from 2 weeks old, but not with a kitten.
@Natalie – The kitten was not separated from the mother by choice, but by fate. You think any sane person would separate a baby at 2-3days??
I cannot take her to the vet for the next 10 hours atleast since its midnight here at this point of time.
So need other ideas/suggestions. Thanks for the quick replies though!

you aren’t supposed to take the kittens away from the mother until they are 8 weeks old. take her to the vet now!!!

Question: Help! My 2 month old kitten wont eat or drink!?
OK guys so here it is. I have a 2 month old kitten from a friend, she gave it to me. But the first 2 days she was eating and drinking well but I’m getting worried coz she wont eat now… PLZ help… I give her cat food “Happy” with beef and chicken. But she wont eat!

Try giving her a soft food, and try not to be cheap. Cats can be picky about nearly anything, especially food. Mine hate Nine Lives but they’ll eat Fancy Feast and the Disney brand stuff.
So try to get some soft food, and try getting two different brands and two different types (one seafood and one chicken, or shrimp and the other beef). You don’t want to give her a huge variety of food because then you can upset her stomach and give her runny stool.
You can even mix it into her hard food because at two months kittens should be moving quit well onto hard food.

Question: Help! I think I made a horrible mistake?
I was at the grocery store, and I saw tunafish for sale for 26 cents a can. I bought some and took it home and had it on a sandwhich for dinner and boy was it delicious.
But a few hours later I looked at receipt and it said “Meow Mix: Tuna flavor cat food”
Gasp!!! Am I going to die? Do I need to see a doctor? Will I be okay???
